A Sweet Soiree! Our ladies event in Georgetown…

We had a wonderful time Saturday afternoon sipping cocktails and shopping with the girls at the LnCDC Ladies Soiree. Modern Lounge in Georgetown was temporarily converted into a fabulous boutique filled with vendors sharing popular gifts and goodies.

Guests got to nosh on lots of yummy treats and make their own goody bags from our shimmering pastel candy buffet.

Our yummy cake push-pops were a big hit with everyone and we got to debut some exciting pieces from our upcoming product line like our Candy Bar in a Box.

Red, White & Blue! July 4th Candy Buffet

I love the fourth of july! Grilling out with friends, fireworks… and all the fun parties of course! We had a very busy week styling celebrations for several patriotic themed events.

I love how the red, white and blue candy just pops! So classic

The patriotic cake pops were a big hit. We filled the candy jars with lots of yummy candies- vanilla sprinkled taffy, cherry sours, crunch bars, almond joys, marshmallows, sour chewy stars, swirl pops, and lots more.

The kids really loved the smores bar. We set out a variety of sprinkles and toppings for them to stick their melted

marshmallows in. So much fun!

Sweet Event Design for Becky’s Fund Gold Cup

I could hardly wait to share the pics from our most recent adventure! The Gold Cup Race is Virginia’s big Derby, bringing out all of Washington, Virginia and Maryland in their biggest hats and brightest preppy best for a day of equestrian excitement. We had the pleasure of working with Becky’s Fund this year, designing two sweet displays for the general admission and VIP tents they host. Becky’s Fund is a national non-profit organization focused on domestic and dating violence awareness and education. The Gold Cup “Investing in Hope” event was the 6th Annual Fundraiser organized by Becky and her team and draws a crowd of over a thousand to raise money, mix and mingle.

The VIP dessert bar we designed was filled with decadent desserts. Cake bites, chocolate truffles, cinnamon rolls, donuts, shortbread cookies and lots more spread across a yellow and black themed table setting with a beautiful yellow floral centerpiece.

Glassine bags were labeled with Becky’s Fund logo. Popcorn bags wrapped in yellow and green gingham filled planter tiers at each end of the table.

For the General Admission table we built a six foot horse topiary as the centerpiece and draped him with Becky’s Fund logo. Yellow and green candies filled glass apothecary jars and displays of cookies, desserts and sweets planked each end. Baskets of candy packs with business cards and Becky’s logo on the table were quickly scooped up by guests. We made 1000 packs and they completely gone within a few hours!

Meeting new people, noshing on the spread Becky’s Fund put out and sipping mint juleps!

We had so much fun and took lots and lots of photos! Big thanks to our Sweet Assistants Lexie and Alexandra for being fabulous promotional models!

A Sweet Treat for BMC Software Company Party

Last week we had the pleasure of working with an awesome group of people celebrating their companies quarterly success. BMC Software designs software solutions that help companies manage their business services and applications. We created a dessert bar to treat their team members and cap off a long day of conference meetings. Guests dug into a delicious sprawl of donuts, cake bites, caramels, chocolates and more! Take home boxes filled with popcorn, gummies, and chocolate candies were given out at the end. The party was awesome and we really had an amazing time with a wonderful group of people. Washington DC Team Spirit- Capitals & Nationals…

With the Washington Capitals in the Stanley Cup Play-offs and the National’s season just getting started D.C. is proudly painted in red, white and blue these days. We put together this inspiration board for a prospective client wanting a candy buffet to celebrate DC’s home teams for an upcoming charity event. Since the fundraiser is supported by team players from the Nationals and Capitals we thought red, white and blue would be the perfect combination for a candy and dessert bar. Love the little flag rice krispies and the smart candy treat bags!

Fundraiser Fun at Fashion for Paws!

Of course we love any reason to get dressed up, but the Fashion for Paws Benefit at the National Museum Building is especially close to our hearts! The charity has been raising money for homeless and rescued animals since 2007 and has raised $1.5 million dollars thus far. This years event alone raised over $700,000, exceeding their goal while also throwing a fabulous party. Following inspiration from the Victoria Secret Runway show, the Syzygy Events Group created a setting that evoked a Miami sunset feeling with bright colors and florals. Puppy shaped topiary trees dressed the tabletops and splashes of colored lighting spilled down the runway as the models and their canine companions walked the runway. We had so much fun and are definitely looking forward to working with Fashion for Paws in the future!

Lollipops and Cotton Candy for VH1 EDrop-Off Show Premiere

Have you seen the new VH1 reality show House of Consignment? The show follows eDrop-Off , a Chicago based company that auctions off high-end luxury and brand name items for clients on eBay. They are the go-to gals for getting rid of your excess Gucci or turning last years Chanel into cold hard cash! The cast recently hosted a screening party for the premiere of their show at the James hotel. Clients, friends and fashion industry insiders mixed and mingled, sipped specialty cocktails and sampled the custom cotton candy bar. Logo printed gift bags and lollipops were given to guests and the colorful candy buffet added a sweet touch to the event. Love the pink and purple color scheme.

Great to see the candy buffet concept popping up all over the place!

Carnival Theme Topiary Tree

Look how cute the Carnival theme candy topiary we designed for a sweet little somebody turned out! Brooklyn’s mommy wanted to add something sweet to her little girls big celebration and asked us to create a candy centerpiece. We designed a big top ball covered in candies and filled the base full of goodies. Standing alongside the carnival centerpiece smaller popcorn buckets full or more sweet treats, a clown and a cute elephant of course! The party guests really enjoyed the monstrous munchie ball and it really set the scene for the carnival theme. We had a ball ourselves creating this one! The topiary trees have been a big hit for us and are super popular as party centerpieces. We’re working hard on our next order of Easter trees for some “bunny” special, lol!
